Global Village Season Dates: When It Opens and Closes Each Year

September 2, 2026

Right now, Global Village is closed. Season 30 ended on May 31, 2026. The operator’s own site carries the notice: “It’s been a wonderful season! See you in October 2026 for the next season of Global Village when we’re back in action.”

Season 31 runs October 2026 to May 2027. Global Village has not announced the exact dates, and tickets are not yet on sale.

Verified: Aug. 26, 2026. This page tracks a calendar the operator moves every year, so check Global Village’s own announcement against your dates before you book anything around it.

That is the answer most people need. What follows is the part no other page gives you: the seven-year pattern behind those dates, which is the only thing on this subject that does not go stale. It also tells you, with reasonable confidence, that a closing date printed in April will probably not be the date the park actually shuts.

Global Village is a large outdoor park, in the operator’s own words, and that single fact governs the calendar. It closes for the Gulf summer because an open-air site in Dubai between June and September is not a place families spend an evening.

The two months to be careful about are October and May. Everything from November to April is safe; June to September is a definite no. If your dates fall in either edge month, read the next two sections before you book anything around it.

For what the park actually contains once you are inside (the pavilions, the Carnaval, the shows), see what is actually inside Global Village.

This is the table worth keeping. Two columns matter more than the rest: what the operator announced as the closing date, and when the park actually closed.

Global Village season history, Seasons 26 to 30 Season 26 opened 26 October 2021, was scheduled to close 10 April 2022 and actually closed 7 May 2022, four weeks late. Season 27 opened 25 October 2022 and closed 29 April 2023 on schedule. Season 28 opened 18 October 2023, was scheduled to close 28 April 2024 and closed 5 May 2024, one week late. Season 29 opened 16 October 2024, was scheduled to close 11 May 2025 and closed 18 May 2025, one week late. Season 30 opened 15 October 2025, was scheduled to close 10 May 2026 and closed 31 May 2026, three weeks late. Four patterns come out of that table, and each one is useful.

The opening date has moved earlier every single year

Oct. 26, then Oct. 25, then Oct. 18, then Oct. 16, then Oct. 15. Five consecutive seasons, each opening earlier than the last, and the run has moved the start forward by 11 days in four years. Season 30 opened its gates at 6 p.m. on Oct. 15, 2025. That is the earliest start in the record.

Global Village has not published a reason for the drift. What the drift produces is not in dispute: more trading days every year.

Global Village has extended the season in four of the last five seasons

Season 27 is the only one in this table that closed on the date it announced. Every other season ran longer than advertised: four weeks in Season 26, a week in Season 28, a week in Season 29 and three weeks in Season 30.

This is the single most actionable fact in this article. If you are looking at a published closing date in May and your flights land a few days after it, the historical odds are that the park will still be open. Not a guarantee (Season 27 shut on schedule), but four out of five is a meaningful base rate, and it is the opposite of what every other page implies.

The extensions vary in length, with no trend either way

Read the extension column in order. Season 26 ran four weeks past its announced close. Season 27 closed on schedule. Season 28 ran one week over, Season 29 one week and Season 30 three weeks. The longest extension in the record is also the earliest one, so the extensions are not lengthening over time. The honest reading is a range rather than a direction: when Global Village has extended, it has extended by one to four weeks.

Global Village announced Season 30’s extension so that visitors could enjoy the park through the Eid Al Adha holidays, which is the kind of reason that recurs. A moving Islamic holiday landing near the scheduled close is precisely the circumstance that has produced extensions before.

The season is lengthening at both ends

This is the pattern that ties the other three together. The announced closing date has also crept later: April 10, 2022, then late April 2023, then April 28, 2024, then May 11, 2025 and May 10, 2026. So the season has been growing from the front and from the back at the same time: an earlier opening, a later scheduled close and then an extension on top of that.

Count the days rather than the months. Season 26 ran from Oct. 26, 2021 to May 7, 2022, which is 194 days. Season 30 ran from Oct. 15, 2025 to May 31, 2026, which is 229 days. The difference is 35 days, or exactly five extra weeks of park, arrived at one announcement at a time.

This section is inference from the table above, not an announcement. Global Village has not published Season 31’s dates. Treat what follows as a planning range and confirm before booking anything non-refundable around it.

Opening: most likely mid-October 2026. The last four openings fell between Oct. 15 and 25, and the trend has run consistently earlier. A date in the Oct. 13 to 20 window is where the pattern points. Anyone arriving in the first week of October should assume the park is shut; anyone arriving after Oct. 25 is almost certainly safe.

Scheduled close: most likely early-to-mid May 2027. Announced closes have landed between April 28 and May 11.

Actual close: plausibly later than whatever Global Village announces. On a four-in-five base rate, a May traveller whose dates fall within two or three weeks of the published close has a reasonable chance of the park still being open.

What would change this. The dates are the operator’s to set and they have moved for holidays, for anniversaries and for reasons not published. A season that opens on an unusual date, or a scheduled close that already sits unusually late, would break the pattern rather than confirm it.

If your trip is not yet fixed and Global Village matters to you, the broader question of which months work best from India (school holidays, fares and weather together) is set out in which months suit a trip from India.

Predicted Season 31 window This is inference from five seasons of dates, not an announcement. The opening is most likely between 13 and 20 October 2026. The announced close is most likely between 28 April and 11 May 2027. The actual close is plausibly later than whatever is announced, on a base rate of four extensions in five seasons. This is inference from five seasons of dates Global Village has not announced Season 31. Confirm before booking. LIKELY OPENING 13–20 October 2026 Last five openings: 26, 25, 18, 16 and 15 October LIKELY ANNOUNCED CLOSE 28 Apr – 11 May 2027 Announced closes have landed in that window since 2023 AND THE PART THAT MATTERS FOR MAY TRAVELLERS The actual close is plausibly later than whatever is announced Four of the last five seasons ran past their published closing date, by one to four weeks.

The mistake visitors make is arriving in daylight. Global Village does not open until late afternoon.

DaysHours
Monday to Thursday4 p.m. to midnight
Friday to Sunday4 p.m. to 1 a.m.

Two things follow from that. First, this is an evening plan and you cannot combine it with another evening plan on the same day. Second, arriving at 4 p.m. in October or April means an hour of daylight heat before it becomes pleasant. Most families do better arriving at 6 p.m. or later, and accepting a busier park.

Tuesdays are different. The operator reserves Tuesdays for families and ladies, excluding public holidays. The operator does not admit groups of men without family on that day. If your party is a group of male friends or male colleagues, Tuesday is not available to you, and this catches out visitors every season.

Global Village stays open through Ramadan. What changes is the clock, and it changes substantially.

The table below is Season 30 historic data. Ramadan 2026 fell inside Season 30, and that season ended on May 31, 2026. Read these hours as the shape of the change rather than as the times you will meet.

Normal hours, Season 30Ramadan 2026 hours, Season 30
WeekdaysMonday to Thursday, 4 p.m. to midnightSunday to Wednesday, 5 p.m. to 1 a.m.
WeekendFriday to Sunday, 4 p.m. to 1 a.m.Thursday to Saturday, 5 p.m. to 2 a.m.

Ramadan 2027 is expected to begin on Feb. 8, 2027, subject to moon sighting. That lands it in a different part of the season from Ramadan 2026, so Season 31’s Ramadan hours will apply to a different stretch of the calendar, and Global Village has not published them yet.

Opening moves an hour later and closing moves an hour or two later, so the whole evening shifts. A 2 a.m. close on a Ramadan weekend is a genuinely different experience. The park fills after Iftar and stays busy very late.

For families with young children this is the practical catch: the park is at its liveliest at an hour your six-year-old cannot manage. Going early in the Ramadan evening, around opening, gets you a calmer park than the same visit outside Ramadan would. How the rest of a family’s day shifts during the month (meal timings, attraction hours, what is and is not open in daylight) is covered in how Ramadan reshapes a family’s evenings.

Note that Ramadan moves earlier by roughly 11 days each year, so which part of the season it lands in changes annually. Check the hours for your specific dates rather than assuming last year’s pattern.

Season 30 pricing, for a season that has ended. These figures held unchanged from Season 29:

TicketPrice
Weekday, Sunday to Thursday, excluding public holidaysAED 25
Any dayAED 30
VIP packsFrom AED 1,800

Global Village has not published Season 31 prices. They have held flat across two consecutive seasons, so a similar figure is a reasonable expectation. It is an expectation, not a published price.

Free entry applies to:

  • Children under 3
  • Seniors above 65
  • People of Determination and a companion

At AED 25 to 30, this is the cheapest large attraction in Dubai by a wide margin, and the reason it belongs on almost every budget itinerary. The rest of that calculation is in the cheapest way to fill a Dubai evening. How that free-entry age compares with the rest of the city, where the cutoffs range from under-2 to under-4, is set out in the free-entry ages at other Dubai attractions.

What the entry ticket does not cover. The Carnaval rides carry individual prices on top of entry: a kiddie ride runs around AED 15 and larger rides considerably more. Those rides also publish two height figures each, one to ride alone and a lower one to ride with an adult, which is unusual and useful; the mechanics are set out in the two-figure height rules on Carnaval rides.

Global Village sells tickets online ahead of each season and at the gate. Where advance and gate pricing differ across Dubai’s attractions, and what happens to a ticket you cannot use, is compared in how attraction tickets are sold and refunded in Dubai.

Global Village entry prices and free-entry categories Season 30 entry was twenty-five dirhams on weekdays Sunday to Thursday excluding public holidays, and thirty dirhams any day, unchanged from Season 29. Free entry applies to children under three, seniors above sixty-five, and People of Determination with a companion. Carnaval rides are priced separately, starting around fifteen dirhams. Season 31 prices are not yet published. Season 30 entry: held flat from Season 29 SUNDAY – THURSDAY AED 25 Excluding public holidays ANY DAY AED 30 VIP packs from AED 1,800 FREE ENTRY Children under 3 · Seniors above 65 People of Determination and a companion Carry proof of age: the free categories are checked at the gate The entry ticket does not include the rides Carnaval rides are priced individually, from around AED 15. Season 31 prices not yet published.

Global Village is not the only Dubai attraction that shuts for the summer, and for exactly the same reason. Dubai Miracle Garden operates on a near-identical October-to-May window, because a flower display and a Gulf July are incompatible in the same way an open-air village is. Its own season dates and what changes between them are in Dubai Miracle Garden’s matching seasonal window.

The planning consequence is larger than either attraction. An October-to-May trip and a June-to-September trip are structurally different holidays. In the cool window, the outdoor attractions carry the itinerary and the indoor ones are the backup. In the hot window, that inverts completely, and a family arriving in August who planned around Global Village and Miracle Garden has lost two anchor days. Which months are genuinely workable outdoors, and what the indoor substitute is for each, is mapped in why Dubai’s outdoor season runs October to May.

For families whose dates are still movable, this is worth settling before flights rather than after. Operators building around the cool season sequence the outdoor anchors first, which is what Dubai packages timed around the Global Village season are structured to do.

Is Global Village open in summer?

No. It closes for June, July, August and September every year. It is an outdoor park and the Gulf summer makes an evening there unworkable.

Will the closing date move again?

Historically, yes: four of the last five seasons ran past their announced closing date, by one to four weeks. Season 27 is the only recent season that closed on the day it said it would. Treat a published May closing date as a floor rather than a deadline.

When are the next season’s dates announced?

Global Village has announced opening dates well ahead. Season 28’s date was public by July of that year. Expect Season 31’s exact dates and ticket prices during the second half of 2026, ahead of an October opening.

Does it open in the morning?

No. Gates open at 4 p.m., and during Ramadan at 5 p.m. Plan it as an evening and do not stack another evening activity on the same day.

Does Tuesday exclude men?

Tuesdays are reserved for families and ladies, excluding public holidays. Men attending with their families are fine; the operator does not admit groups of men without family that day.

Can I buy tickets at the gate?

Yes, and online ahead of the season. At AED 25 to 30 the saving from buying ahead is small. The reason to book online is avoiding the queue on a peak-season weekend rather than the price.

Does the entry ticket include the rides?

No. Entry gets you the pavilions, shows and the site itself. The Carnaval rides carry individual prices on top, starting around AED 15 for the smallest.

Is it worth going right at the start or the very end of the season?

The edges trade weather against crowds. October and May evenings are warmer than midwinter, which is why the park runs on an evening-only schedule year-round. December and January are the most comfortable and also the busiest. If you dislike crowds more than you dislike heat, the edges are the better visit.

How long does a visit take?

Plan a full evening: four hours minimum for a first visit. The operator describes it as a very large outdoor park and recommends comfortable shoes, which is not marketing copy.

Before you book

Check two things against your dates. If you land between June and September, Global Village is not available and the itinerary needs different anchors. If you land in the first three weeks of October or anywhere in May, you are on a season edge, and the edge behaves asymmetrically. An early-October arrival is a real risk, because the park simply has not opened. A May arrival is a much smaller risk, because the closing date has moved later in four of the last five seasons.

When Global Village publishes Season 31’s dates, they will replace the estimates in this article. The pattern behind them will not change.
